Meet AAICM

  • Jokeda "JoJo" Bell

    PRESIDENT

JoJo Bell founded AAICM in 2016 with the desire to share Black MN history state-wide. She holds an M.A. in Liberal Arts and has published pieces in publications like the Minnesota Women’s Press. She is currently writing a book under contract with the Minnesota Historical Society Press.

  • Jeremiah Ellis

    SECRETARY

Noting kindred interests in Minnesota's African American History, Jeremiah partnered with AAICM on oral and public history projects. In conjunction with the Sterling Club's centennial celebration, Jeremiah authored St. Paul's Distinct Leadership Tradition: A Century of The Sterling Club, which Ramsey County History Magazine published in 2019. Jeremiah's passion for AAICM's mission stems from his six generations of Minnesota ancestors.
